Why do you like to move your body?

August 2021 — By Stephanie H.

I’ve always been active, but after playing team sports, I found that exercise is something that keeps me going both physically and emotionally. It is something that I’ve used over the years to help with my anxiety, along with the help of my therapist. It makes me feel good to watch my body get stronger from my hard work, and working out alongside other women who are doing the same is a big bonus. There’s nothing like being a part of a community as a place like Peach Lab.

What motivates you to get moving?

I find that, if I sign up for my classes for the week in advance, it makes it much more likely that I will actually go. I am a person that likes to plan and schedule, so incorporating my workouts into my week instead of waiting until the last minute cements it in my brain that the hour I’ve blocked is going to be for the gym. It also helps to remind myself of the satisfaction I feel after a good workout. An hour out of your day is such a small fraction of the total time that you have, so to use it to do something good for your body makes it easier for me to get myself up and there.
